The ninth International Songwriting Competition (ISC) has released its list of judges, and it includes world-renowned artists and record label executives from across the musical spectrum. Artist judges include Rihanna, Peter Gabriel, Tom Waits, Steve Winwood, Timbaland and the Kings Of Leon to name but a few, while Monte Lipman (President of Universal Republic Records), Amanda Ghost (President of Epic Records) and Rich Krim (Executive Vice President and Talent & Music Programming for VH1) represent three of the many music industry moguls who will be judging the competition.

The ISC concludes with 66 winners and one Grand Prize winner, who share more than $150,000 in cash and prizes, with the Grand Prize scoring $25,000 in cash and $20,000 in prizes. Three of the past five Grand Prize winners have signed to major labels with Universal and Epic, while other winners have acquired smaller label and publishing deals. The 2010 ISC has added an “Unsigned Only” category to give undiscovered artists an opportunity to compete with others on a similar level, as entrants in the category cannot be signed to a major label record deal, publishing deal, or distribution deal.

As Eminem’s Recovery moves toward yet another week at the top of the Billboard  album chart, his “Love the Way You Lie” also maintains its assault on radio and the digital realm (as of this writing, it stood as the most-downloaded song on iTunes). It seems poised to top Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” this week and take its place at the front of the line on the Billboard Hot 100. That would give Eminem his second consecutive chart-topper, following the success of “Not Afraid.”

But even if “Love the Way You Lie” doesn’t make it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 this week, Slim Shady can be proud that fans have voted it their favorite collaboration with a female artist. On Monday (July 12), MTV wondered out loud whether or not “Love the Way You Lie” (which features Rihanna) was better than his collaborations with Pink, Dido, Dina Rae or his daughter Hailie. The final results of the poll were razor thin, but Rihanna narrowly pulled off the victory, bringing in 39.77 percent of the vote. (Read more… )

Andy Samberg once again scored an Emmy nomination for one of his “Saturday Night Live” digital shorts with a pop star, and he told AccessHollywood.com that if Rihanna is free, he’d love to perform “Shy Ronnie” on TV’s big night.

“Oh my God, yeah! If they want us to,” Andy told Access at Lexus’ Darker Side of Green event in West Hollywood on Thursday. “I think getting her to do it will be harder.”

The skit, which netted Andy an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics, featured Rihanna singing to a classroom of kids alongside Andy, in a red wig, playing the part of “Shy Ronnie,” a bashful youngster who choked each time she tossed a verse over to him.

The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on August 29th. Rihanna has never been to Emmy awards so we’re hoping this time she will since “her song” is nominated!

Floating out from the back of the stage in a long black dress covered in red LED lights, Rihanna appeared the polar opposite of her raucaus opening act.

Her dress was quickly stripped off to reveal a racier number for Hard, while a sextet of dancers jumped on top of a pink tank and Rihanna herself mounted its gun.

Before her kick off show in Vancouver, Rihanna was spotted out and about looking sweet. You got to admit she’s rocking the red hair!

First of all thank you everyone who have paticipated in our contest! All entries were simply amazing and it took us so long to decide who should win that we have even delayed the announcement.
