• “Good Morning America” today announced its sizzling 2010 Summer Concert Series lineup with the hottest chart-topping acts in the US. From mega-watt stars Rihanna (on August 20), Black Eyed Peas and Alicia Keys  to pop sensations the Jonas Brothers  and Demi Lovato, and Miley Cyrus  to country superstars Sugarland and Lady Antebellum, “GMA” will be rocking out all summer long in Central Park. Viewers interested in joining “GMA” in Central Park are encouraged to arrive at Rumsey Playfield via the 69th Street entrance on Fifth Avenue at 6 a.m., when the park opens to the public.

• Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles announced the line up this morning on his breakfast show. Rihanna, Pendulum, Biffy Clyro and JLS top the bill on the main stage on May 23, with Vampire Weekend and You Me at Six headlining the In New Music We Trust stage. The Big Weekend, Radio 1’s flagship music event, will be broadcast on the station, with an interactive presence online at bbc.co.uk/radio1 and live performances available to watch on demand. There will be highlights on BBC Three and extended performances can be seen via the Red Button on digital TV during the weekend.

Rihanna’s pre-taped performances aired last night on New Year’s Eve as part of NBC’s “New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly.”

9. RIHANNA “Rated R” (Def Jam) Domestic abuse apparently gave Rihanna a motive and a narrative for her tough-as-nails fourth album. Beyond a few rueful ballads, most plainly “Stupid in Love,” she sounds armored and imperious. That’s not remotely a bad thing, and neither are the flashes of her Barbadian roots.

Rihanna attended the launch of VEVO, the world’s premiere destination for premium music video and entertainment at Skylight Studio on December 8, in New York City. On Monday afternoon, Rihanna gave an interview to “NewNowNext PopLab”, for the next season that will premiere in January.

“NewNowNext PopLab” is an extension of Logo’s successful NewNowNext brand. The show infuses hits from established icons such as Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Rihanna and Jennifer Hudson with emerging pop sensations of tomorrow including Mika and Cobra Starship. Last night, Rihanna headed to NYC tattoo parlor East Side Ink — one of her favorites — and had her personal motto etched indelibly into her skin forever.

“She came in at about 2:00 A.M.,” East Side Ink owner and artist Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy tells OK! exclusively. “She told me in advance she’d be coming, and then when she got there, she told me what she wanted: ‘Never a failure, always a lesson,’ but written backwards.” Bang Bang continues, “I asked her why she wanted that and she said, ‘It’s kind of my motto in life for everything.’ Instead of considering things to be mistakes, considering them lessons.”

He explains that RiRi, who he says is “doing great,” wanted the phrase done in mirror writing so she would be able to read it in the mirror.

Because this piece of body art is so personal to Rihanna, the pop superstar decided she didn’t want this new ink to be as obvious as the ones she already sports.

“She said that she wanted to do it in gray, rather than black, because she wanted it to be more subtle,” explains Bang Bang. “She didn’t want it to draw too much attention.”
